ABOUT CHLOE
Chloe Dao, a proud Vietnamese Asian-American, small business owner and entrepreneur, was born in Laos as the sixth of eight girls. She is a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology, with 8 years of experience in the New York luxury fashion scene. In 2000, she launched the LOT 8 boutique in Houston. With more than 24 years in business, her goal has always remained the same—to make a woman feel beautiful with effortless and timeless designs.
My mother, my mentor, my muse
I would not be here without my mother being the greatest example of what hard work and risk taking can achieve. Despite not speaking English and raising eight daughters, she worked three jobs and within a few years had her own businesses. My creativity and love of fashion stems from her. She possesses a natural grace that sets her apart and that is why I aspire to infuse my designs with elegance.
I believe…
… in kindness and openness because fashion can be intimidating. I’m here to educate, be a guide and provide support. Fashion can be precious but it should be worn; it should make you laugh, it should make you cry, it creates memories.
My design philosophy…
…to create clothes that are feminine, flattering and timeless. Good style should be effortless. A well-designed garment stands the test of time in design and construction.

If you can give back, you should give back. I believe in sharing your knowledge, your time, your success. My reward for helping others is watching them thrive and being a part of their journey.
My biggest moment
Winning Project Runway Season 2 has given me opportunities and exposure I never could have dreamt of. I’ve been fortunate enough to be involved in so many meaningful projects.
