CHLOE DAO GIVES BACK

In all the years that Chloe has had her business here in Houston, she has always made it a priority to help out her local community. In her words, “It is very important to me to give back to the community that has given me so much. We can all be better by helping each other.”

Like many other local businesses, Chloe made the difficult decision to close the boutique on March 18th in Rice Village. However, she wanted to help the community in some way, so she decided to use her expertise and make washable face masks. Since last week Chloe Dao and our team have been working non-stop to make these face masks.

After spending some time researching mask patterns and fabric, Chloe designed a mask with pocket on the inside, so a filter can be added. What originally started with 100 masks to give out to Instagram followers, grew to dozens, then hundreds of messages, emails, and phone calls requesting masks for families, and a majority of those who work in hospitals and clinics all over the country. Since then, our team has overwhelmingly been working on the production and distribution of the face masks.

As the need for masks and protective gear for those on the front lines has increased, our team has shifted from making masks to the general public, and focusing on medical workers in our area.

Chloe and our team have added fashionable face masks to our website, and we plan to continue to make masks to donate for the medical community.

Here are a few articles for reference.

It’s been whirlwind for us honestly. A few weeks ago we were open, focusing on selling beautiful gowns to all the ladies shopping for prom. Now, we’re making face masks to help prevent the spread of a virus. It almost sounds like a movie. The only thing that has kept all of us from going insane is knowing that we’re not in this alone. Despite how scary this situation is, reading stories from all over the world of people helping each other out, and sharing words of encouragement is making all this work worthwhile. It won’t always be like this, and we’re proof that when we work together, anything is possible.

We’re thankful to our community for spreading the word and very grateful to everyone who has donated to our team during this difficult time. If you would like to give to our team while we continue to make masks, here is the link to make your contribution.
